Hello,
I wanted to remind you all of the attendance policy here at Platt and in this class. Today we had 3 students at the start of class and 1 at the end of class. Although you are all adults and if you decide to come in late, leave early, or skip the class entirely--it is your decision to do so. However, I wanted to let you know that not only does it hurt my feelings, but each tardy, leaving early, and missing class will count against your grade. See below for the full policy.
Also, please email me directly if you will be late or miss class. Texting others to tell me that you are late will not be considered "excused".
Platt students pay a lot for their education. Take advantage of the opportunity to learn these valuable skills.
For those of you who informed me of your inability to attend, I appreciate it.

- Students are not to miss more than 4 classes - each class should be excused.
- If a student is to miss fifth/sixth class - he has to excuse himself/herself to the teacher and the teacher will have discretion to excuse or not to excuse the student. The absence MUST be made up in Sunday lab (Sunday noon - 5 PM) or in the afternoon prior the class. The excuse must be truly serious!
- If a students misses the very first class without an excuse left for the teacher, he/she may be dropped from the course. If we decide the student may stay in the class (with unexcused absence) - that class must be made up as well. each student knows of this strict policy.
- As a common and professional courtesy, please advise me in advance when you will miss a class, please email me if you will be either late or missing class for whatever reason. Platt’s attendance policy is to drop students after three consecutive misses automatically. I will strictly adhere to this policy. Class begins promptly at 6 PM and continues until 10:00 PM. Anyone arriving after 6 PM or leaving before 10:00 PM will be considered tardy. Four unexcused tardies will be considered a missed class. Attendance will be considered greatly in terms of class participation grading. Students are responsible for obtaining any and all missed materials in case of an absence. Absences may be made up based upon instructor’s discretion.
